I have been talking about this for a long time. It’s something I think is very important in business. Your vision statement is something which should be seen as your guiding light, not necessarily a destination.
I talked about it in my previous blog post “The Business of the Mangosteen“. Check it out if you missed it.
This video is a clip from Rich Schefren’s conference. Tom McCarthy talks about how important vision and a vision statement is.
Without vision you don’t know where you’re going. First you have an idea, then you turn that idea into a vision. That vision is like a light house on the rocky shores. It’s not a destination, but a guiding light. You have goals and milestones and if you get off track, always keep your eye on the vision. Your vision statement will keep you on the right path.
So many people marketing on the internet are so focussed on selling a product. They write an ebook and market the hell out of it and sell a bunch. Then they do it again and again. However, there’s no rhyme and reason to their madness. You should build a strong foundation for your business. Those products should be in line with the vision and be used to meet different milestones and goals aligning with the vision.
Many Many years ago, my wife gave me a card. The cover of it said Fly High Live Large Dream BIG.
If you have received a personal email from me you may have seen it in my signature.
